GT6168 - Ship's timber

Vergulde Draeck (Gilt Dragon)

Fragment of frame or beam, square in section with straight edges between the four faces. Timber has three treenails, 2 treenail holes, and one partial treenail hole. Treenails used to attach frame to hull planking, rounded in section. Two treenails seated very close to one another; one of which is blind treenail that is smaller in diameter, which suggests the ceiling planking was treenailed onto frames. No other fasteners present.
