Vergulde Draeck (Gilt Dragon)
Jug fragments- restored. Has part of pewter handle attached, and part of pewter lid. Grey saltglaze jug with cobalt blue decoration; Westerwald/Grenzau or Raeren (cf von Bock 367). Cordon neck and shoulders; three oval medallions with Amsterdam Coat of Arms.

The Vergulde Draeck (Gilt Dragon) sailed from Texel bound for Batavia (Jakarta), under Pieter Albertsz carrying trade goods and eight chests of silver to the value of 78,6000 guilders. On 28 April 1656 the Vergulde Draeck was wrecked just south of Ledge Point. 75 of the 193 made it to shore.
