Tureen cover, part, with cap seat footrim: Spode ultramarine on white. ‘Hunting a Buffalo’ Pattern; shows British hunters with guns and Indian hunters with spears, mounted on elephants. The picture is frames with a line of printed beading and the border consists of a series of animal scenes — a bear, tiger, hog and bird, all in their natural habitats.

The ship Cumberland was built of teak, iron fastened with iron knees, and had been sheathed with copper. It had two decks, and carried a proofed chain anchor cable as well as two coir rope cables.
