This wakizashi blade is a typical example of the workmanship of swordsmiths of the Seki school, of Mino Province. The blade has grooves to lighten and improve its balance, and the tang has been shortened by approximately 5 cm. A swordsmith with the name Kaneyasu is recorded as having worked in Mino Province in 1532.
