APRON, Dutch traditional costume

CH1981.7

Black ribbed silk. Gathered at top onto wool band in four rows of smocking. Silk ribbon bow on one side of gathers. Sides decorated with band of synthetic ribbon. Band of black elastic attached at one side of waist which fastens to black plastic button on other side. The apron is worn over the shawl at the front and under it at the back.
