Japanese Antarctic Whaling Boots issued by Nippon Kyodo Hogei Kaisha - Japan's remaining Antarctic Whaling Co. Worn by D. Hembree during whale research surveys in the Antarctic in the Weddell and Ross Seas December - February, 1980-1 & 1981-2. Vessels used ROSS SEA - 1) Vdumchivij 34 (USSR) WEDDELL SEA - Shonan Marj (JAPAN) 2) KYO Marj 27 (JAPAN) On sole - "NIPPON \ SHOE" and "L.L.". "D.H." on the side of each boot in ink.
