Oil on canvas portrait of a boy seated by a tree; red hair, frilled white collar, green jacket and plaid cream and brown trousers. The artist is 'HENRIETTA.RADCLIFFE/1955/ AFTER JACOB THOMPSON 1832' written on bottom right hand corner. The stretched canvas is secured to a wooden frame with nails and wooden rivets, 'WILLIAM CARMALT CLIFTON/aged 12 years' is painted on the bottom rear of the canvas. The canvas was prepared in 'LONDON' which is printed on the back
