SCARF, Intended Royal Visit 1949

Square scarf, printed, with mid blue background and motifs in reds, blue, white and yellow. At one corner the Union Jack and Australian flag are combined; another features portraits of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (now the Queen Mother) with the date 1949 beneath. The third corner features a coat of arms with kangaroo, emu and sprays of wattle around; the fourth corner shows a battleship labelled 'HMS VANGUARD'. The scarf has been roughly machine-hemmed on two edges.
