Bright and vivid water colour painting bordered in black on a cotton canvas. Outlines are in black, and filled in with rich but bright water colours. Background is the Perth skyline washed in pale purple annd white against a light blue sky, and purple/yellow yachts sailing in the Swan River. Foreground composed of Northern suburban houses with bright orange rooftops amongst a mass of green gumtrees with white trunks. On left, standing in foreground is a woman, eyes closed, wearing a purple scarf, nursing a baby wrapped in a rose pink blanket. The woman is dressed in blue, green and purple dress. On right is a stylised painting of a black and white spotted dog chasing a rooster (coloured in rose red, orange, sea blue and navy) which has leaped up. A large grape vine with yellow and dark green leaves and large bunches of round purple grapes borders the city/suburban scene.
Along river banks are palm trees painted in navy blue and brown. Large purple flowers dot the scene. Across scene in large lowercase red letters is 'community/ grapevine'. On bottom left hand corner in bold, black capitals is 'W.I.R.E.' Bottom right hand corner is artists signature in small black capitals 'P.J.O.H.N.S.T.O.N.E'. Along top, bright green and purple ribbons are sewn alternately to hang banner.
