SCARF, National Flags
H1994.142
Cream silk scarf featuring a printed border of national flags: Russia (pre-Revolution flag), the United States, Italy, Spain, France, Japan, Turkey, Britain, Egypt and the Netherlands. The German flag is the only one not in full colour, and its pattern has been crossed out by diagonal lines. In the centre of the scarf, the British, Belgian, Dutch and Russian flags radiated out from the inscription 'FOR/ LIBERTY/ AND/ JUSTICE'. In the corners of the flag, inside the border the flags of Norway, Sweden, Greece and Denmark are positioned diagonally.
