White, strong cotton. Straight neckline, in line with shoulder. Neckline trimmed with crochet. Bodice gathered onto neck and waistband, back and front. Section of front decorated with feather stitch embroidery. Long sleeves piped into bodice. Trimmed with crochet and made to turn back. Fastens with draw-tapes back and front. Skirt handstroked onto waistband. Plain and full. All hand sewn with tiny stitches. Reference: Buck & Cunnington, CHILDREN'S COSTUME IN ENGLAND, 1972, pages 154-5.
