Nagasa: 24.0 cm
Sori: muzori, take no ko zori at tip, i.e. reverse curvature
Sugata: shobu tsukuri, iori mune
Nakago: 10.7 cm, one mekugi ana, possibly suriage
Hada: unclear, possibly masame/itame
Hamon: unclear due to abrasion, possibly suguba of nie with hotsure
Date: 16th century
Blades of this shape were popular in the Muromachi period (1384-1574), and consequently considerable numbers date from this period.
Koshirae
Type: AIKUCHI
Saya: en suite to resemble folded fan. Black, red and gold lacquer over wood.
Tsuka: en suite to resemble folded fan. Black, red and gold lacquer over wood. The hilt carries a mon of crossed arrow feathers, which belongs to the Katagiri family.
