Heavy black cotton twill fabric with 10 x side black fabric-covered metal buttons and button holes, gaiters flared at bottom to cover shoe-tops, leather strap and metal buckle with black elastic to go under foot; black silk lining reinforcement to sides; button-hole to top inside leg to fasten to breeches; Right gaiter has a brown ribbon loop near the label on the inside on the button-side (outer side); label is hand-stitched 'J. WIPPELL & Co LTD/Exeter, London & Manchester/Revd. hand-written Bishop of North West Australia'
