[.1] Bible: 'THE/HOLY BIBLE/CONTAINING THE/OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS' printed by Oxford University Press in `1869. Cover, red leather bound with front pressed central mandalla with gold decorative star and arches within.The spine has 'HOLY BIBLE/ILLUSTRATED' printed in gold between impressed parallel lines down the spine. The inside cover has a label adhered to it of a crest and motto 'HAEC MANUS OB PATRIAM'. The first page has 'Albert Y Hassell/1872' written in ink. The second page is illuminated with gold, green, red and yellow pigments depicting the cross, chalice, grapes, wheat, menorah, lyre and book. It is signed on the bottom left hand corner by 'W DICKES'. Printing throughout is black on fine, cream paper. Illustrations throughout are coloured and have a protective tissue over them.The edges of the pages are gilded.
[.2] Cover; embroidered/tapestry silk cover in pinky-beige with pale green and yellow floral emblems, three on the front cover and one on the back. Flaps hold the cover to the book. A beige cord edges the cover.The cover is lined with pink silk.
