Rectangular, multicoloured, hand-dyed cotton, appliqued quilt, 'Rooms of Discovery', depicting butterflies, elephant, deer, moose, children and text. Reverse side of quilt is red cotton with handstitched border seams. Two small handwritten cream cotton handstitched labels on reverse of quilt, lower left hand side. Larger label marked: ' "Rooms of Discovery"/ © Ruth de Vos, 2008/ [artist's signature]/ www.ruthdevos.com/ width: 127cm/ height: 92cm'. Smaller label marked: 'Note: the "butterfly"/ text is taken from the/ butterfly display at/ the WA Museum, Perth.'
