Infant's carrying cloak of scarlet wool twill; three tier construction - collar, cape, cloak; each tier trimmed with broad facing of quilted white silk satin. Vandyked hems edged with white silk fringe; ties at throat with pink petersham ribbon (not original) and 2 hooks and eyes; lined with white cotton; machine sewn. Marked inside "D \ 44 \ 42" (laundry mark?); inside neck "N3 \ AGWA 1942". Reference: Cunnington and Buck, CHILDREN'S COSTUME IN ENGLAND, page 154.
