MODEL, Rotary Engine Prototype

H1997.152

Rectangular-shaped plastic box with domed top. Sides black. Front and back faces comprise hand-drawn circular designs adhered to wood (?) backings cut out to fit patterns. One face has a black outer "dial" (punctuated by circular patterns) with 360" marked in 10" increments. Within the outer dial is an off-centre red dial (also punctuated by circles). When the unit is activated a central bar rotates unevenly in the dial and spins the inner-most circle (broken into complex patterns) revealing coloured circles at irregular intervals. Other face similar.
One side of the unit has two toggle switches, one marked 'ON/OFF; there is also a dial (possibly inoperative) and a two-pin point for a plug (black power cord attached). The unit is held together with prominant bolts and screws, including some in each face. Base has protective felt pad glued on.
