SLEDGING HAT

H1995.84.1-2

Sledging hood and face mask, used when sledging on motorised toboggins or on tamworth sledges. Fluorescent yellow hood with visor, and chin, mouth and nose guard. Bright colouring can be seen for kilometres on white landscape.
H.1995.84.1 - Inner hood lined with polarplus grey fabric. Hood has wrap around chin straps fastening under chin. Visor protects eyes and is fixed to hood. Covered in yellow waterproof gortex fabric. Red ribbing at nape of neck holds cap to back of neck to protect against wind. Velcro strap for chin fastener. Press stud over visor to clip back if needed.
H.1995.84.2 - Chin guard covers nose, mouth and chin; grey polarplus lining, with yellow gortex outer fabric. Three velcro tabs fasten onto velcro strap on hood.
Label on hood: 'MADE IN AUSTRALIA/ BY SIMPSON-MARSHAL AUST. PTY. LTD./ GORTEX TM-POLARPLUS TM SIZE 'M'-/ MACHINE WASH COLD/ TUMBLE DRY COOL/ DO NOT BLEACH, PRESS / IRON OR STEAM'.
Black ink on back of hood: 'J. LONG/ ANARE/ M.'
