BEVEL

H1994.99

Carpenters bevel (also known as sliding 'T' bevel). A slotted 'blade' of wood is movable within the sides of the body of the bevel. The blade can be set at any angle (90 degrees creates a T) by means of tightening the wing nut which crosses through the tips of the two sides of the body. The slotted blade slides up and down on this belt until the tightening pressure locks it in place at the desired setting. Bevels are used to copy an angle from a job of work or a drawing and transfer that angle to another job of work so a cut can be made.

This bevel is stamped on the end 'C.WARREN' in three places.
