Pencil sketch on white paper. Shows two men, each holding a T-shaped object, the vertical of each object against the ground. The man in the foreground is kneeling so that he is at eye level with the horizontal of the object; he looks over the top of the object towards the other object. The other man, who appears to be smoking, watches him. the men appear to be surveying. Both men are wearing hats; the one in the foreground wears a vest (possibly a safety vest), long trousers and boots. His long sleeves are slightly rolled. The other man is wearing shorts and a short-sleeved shirt, socks and boots.
