Pencil sketch on white paper. Shows man holding book, with its spine facing upwards, and its end pressed against the side of his chest for stability. One of his hands is on either side of the spine, and part of the adjacent cover is peeled back. The man appears to be working on a label which he is attaching to the spine. The man is wearing an open-necked shirt with short sleeves, and is not visible below the thighs. The sketch has been inscribed: 'Book...', but this has been crossed out. Only the signature 'LS 89' remains.
