BUCKLES, Collection of

H1993.352

A large collection of buckles found in the collection and previously unaccessioned. Some are on their original cards indicating they are ex-shop stock and others are obviously second hand. Sizes, shapes, colours and designs vary greatly. Difficult to date as it appears that collection has been amassed over some years. At a guess I would say from the 1920s-1960s. There are also a few cards of fabric shirt buttons. A useful collection for a display on haberdashery for costume fastening, i.e. buttons, zips, etc.
