HABERDASHERY SAMPLER

Assortment of haberdashery items encased in a cardboard folder, internal felt piece. Items include sewing machine needles, safety pins, buckles, buttons, hooks and crochet needles. Each of these items have different sizes, buttons and hooks also have different colours. Probably a salesperson's sampler kit as internal folder has sizing numbers written in freehand in red and black ink and types of metals. Sizes are in inches. Several of the items such as large safety pins are and crochet hooks are made in Germany. A gold stick on label reads: "Sole Agents and Distributors / MARCARD & Co. / 360 Post Office Place / MELBOURNE / Phone MU 2923 / (and at Sydney, G.P.O. Box 1768k ). Also an ink stamp on the internal folder reads: Marcard & Co. / Sole Agents Melbourne." Half of this gold stick on is also on the front cover of the folder, as well as another stick on label that reads "540".
