Labour Day Cup, Base and Lid

The cup was called the LABOUR DAY / CUP and it was for the best trade display. There are 14 small sterling silver shields around the edge of the wooden base, only 5 are engraved. The five that are engraved were when the cup was won by the Flour Millers Employees Union in 1947 the Brewery Employees Union in 1948, the Metropolitan Timber Workers Union in 1949, the Shop Assistants Union in 1966 and the Waterside Workers in 1967. Cup is a conventional EPNS trophy with a lid, two handles at the sides, a stem, metal base which fits onto the wooden base. All three pieces of the cup are detachable.
