Engraved inscription to front; 'SACRED / to the MEMORY of / IOHN GREEN / Bricklayer &c aged 29 years / who met with a premature death / while sinking a well in PERTH / January 15 1834'. 'So / REMEMBER MAN as you pass by / As you are now so once was I / As I am now so you must be / Prepare yourself to follow me'.
