Inscription: 'THIS TABLET WAS ERECTED BY THOMAS PEEL ESQ. TO THE MEMORY OF: GEORGE BUDGE/ BAGDE(?), Late Private 63rd Regiment aged 45 years, cruelly murdered by the natives on the 23rd February 1832. HUGH NISBIT, Late Private 21st Regiment Scots Fusiliers, aged 19(?) years, who fell a victim to the same tribe on the late 16th April 1831/ 1834(?)'
