BUTTON

H1992.73

A small nickeled brass military button, probably from a pocket or sleeve. This pattern of button was used on uniform tunics in W.A.from 1880s to the early Federation period. Front, a swan in a circle. Circle marked around top half "VIGILANS", around bottom half "5 six-pointed stars". Back, "T.A.? & C.T.? Hobson & Sons(Holborn ?- unclear)". W.A.troops to the Boer War wore these buttons.
