Top opening lid marked 'ROLLS RAZOR' in circular logo which contains a naked man squatting and using a whetting stone, beneath whom is marked 'THE WHETTER'. Reverse face-lid marked 'ROLLS RAZOR LTD./ MADE IN ENGLAND' in circle around patent information: 'PATENTED IN ENGLAND AND ABROAD/ ENGLISH PATENT Nos. 457383, 284428/ 242718, 242717/ AND PENDING.' Both lids are decorated with vertical designs (Single row of Greek key pattern and line - see original data sheet for diagram). Each lid is opened by means of a button located on each end of the box.
