CORONATION CROWN LANTERN

H1992.55

During the Royal Tour by the Queen these crowns were sold to people who wished to display their loyal sentiments. Placed in a window with a small electric light behind the crown for illumination would effectively indicate a loyal household. A wooden frame has been fabricated to make a freestanding lantern. The crown is painted red, green and gold on a white background. No specific details are known about the ownership and use of this lantern.
