MACHINE GUN, Dummy
H1992.414
This dummy machine gun is a copy of the Vickers MG which was standard issue in WW 1 and 2. This gun was probably made as a training aid for the V.D.C. in 1940-41. The gun has most of the features of the Vickers but cannot be fired. The gun appears to be almost completely hand made, probably by skilled members of the V.D. C. who are known to have fabricated many items of equipment including bayonets, mortars etc. Serial No. .......... Proof Marks .................... Accessories ......... .....................
