POWDER MEASURE

H1992.99

Brass powder measure with wooden handle. The measure appears to hold about 20 grains of black powder. Used to measure set amounts of powder into a muzzle loading firearm or when reloading cartridges. Belonged to Otto Lipfert, the first taxidermist at the W.A. Museum 1894-1942. Marked on bottom of measure "1 / 12" See H92.0097, H92.0098 Serial No. .......... Proof Marks ....................
