MACHINE GUN, Vickers.

H1992.38

This gun was probably made, used, damaged and repaired in WW1. It was reissued in WW2 but because of the damage it was used only as a training arm and / or EMERGENCY USE, hence the initials E. Y. stamped on top rear of water jacket. The Vickers was the standard M. G. of Britain and Australia through both wars. Made in huge numbers, it was a licenced adaption of the MAXIM gun.
