a. Depicts the Boulder Block Hotel, with mining works in background. b. Depicts the Meekatharra Hotel; patrons are seated at the bar, with barmaid in attendance. One lone person leans against a verandah pole. c. Depicts the Agnew Hotel; there is a glimpse of patrons inside. In the foreground are two cars, seemingly stationary. Two dogs guard the pub. To the right is an Aboriginal woman, pregnant, holding her little toddler's hand. Has plain wooden frame. This item was found in Egan Street, along with many others, was packed and brought to Perth to be accessioned by P. Brennan in 1989. It was painted by prospector and miner, and Boulder resident Bob Salmon, who died in 1982 aged 84. They are done from memory in a primitive fashion using materials to hand. They were presented to G. Mae on his death. Bob Salmon was interviewed by Norma King about his work at an exhibition in 1980. 13 paintings by Salmon were accessioned in 1988: H88.138.
