SKID CHAINS, Pair

Pair of skid chains; two chains are joined by small chain, giving appearance of chain ladder, small chains forming rungs. "33 x 5" and "Weed" appear on clasp of a., "Weed" also appears on b. Clasp joins chain to form circle; one pair is needed per vehicle. Fitted to motor vehicle's wheels to prevent bogging in mud. Used by master builders Frank Cardilini and his father, circa 1930 while carting building materials to various towns in the Murchison goldfields.
