Box and lid covered in white leather, a product native to Hyogo Prefecture. The lid is tooled in gold in an abstract pattern. Inside the box is painted in black gloss with silver flecks. Scallops have been cut from the long sides of the top to enable it to be easily removed. Inside the box is a card with a picture of a pagoda style building on one side and lettering in Japanese on the other.
