BED SPREAD
H1989.800
Born in 1888, Mr Stephens moved to Kalgoorlie with his family in 1902. He later began working in a barber's shop (with living quarters) at 13 Hannan Street. He eventually bought the shop, where he lived and continued to practise his trade. He never married, nor did he ever go prospecting. In 1987 the premises were demolished to make way for the new Museum of the Goldfields; Mr Stephens had moved to the Kalgoorlie Nursing Home by this time. Most personal effects from his house were accessioned into the collection at this time. Yellow, black, grey and white striped and checked bedspread. For single bed; has no maker's tags. Cheap common bedspread available from 1970s.
