Belonged to Kay McMahon's great grandmother Julia Sinclair (nee Playle). Made from a nugget found in 1894 by great grandfather Laurie Sinclair at the Dundas goldfields. Nugget kicked up by Laurie's horse Norse-man, and the town town Norseman was named after the horse. Brooch described by Gregsons as "Victorian locket brooch stamped 15ct yellow gold of peachbloom finish and with safety chain and pin. The oval centre is set with two small round faceted rubies, and one half freshwater pearl. The whole embellished with gold granulation. Total weight 8.7grms"
