CUP AND SAUCER
CH1981.402
White body with clear glaze. Moulded with half flutes painted gold and blue between flutes. Border of trailing blue foliage edged with gilt on pale yellow ground. Both marked on base in under glaze blue 'DAVENPORT \ LONGPORT'. Pattern number '2844' in red. Mark indicates a date ca 1815-70, however Godden mentions item with registration number for 1856 having a pattern number ' 1174 See Godden Pottery and Porcelain Marks page 190, number 1188 & Godden British Porcelain, page 192.
