a) Dutch or peg doll. All wood, with peg joints at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. painted head and shoulders with characteristic black hair and red cheeks. Has front section of grey hair at front. Has been painted from elbows and knees down. On back in pencil 'This dolls was brought from/ Antwerp by Ben & Janet Brierley/ July 1891 for Janet Brierley'.
b) Pair of drawers for doll. All beautifully hand sewn, possibly as an exercise. Open in front & fastening with single pearl button. Trim of m/c embroidery and Val. lace at cuff. Ref. Coleman, Collectors8 Encycl. pp. 656-665.
