Black case, pince-nez type spectacles. Label inside case: 'These Glasses are/ the property of / Captn. Spencer Hughes/ 40 Johnston St./ Cottesloe'.

Addition 24/4/98:
Pince nez - 'Boston' model. Rimless C-shaped bow spring pince nez with flat (or plano) oval lenses.
Case - Metal bodied snap case. Has cleaning cloth inside.
Identical style shown in Orr, p. 47. Dated c 1900-1930.
Similar style shown in 'Yesterday's Shopping. Army and Navy Stores Catalogue' p. 1216.
