Steel (or nickel) 'Astiq'pince nez. Small oval lenses and helical spring bridge or 'Astiq' pince nez with swinging vertical nose pads of clear celluloid.
Astig clips started to be manufactured c. 1890s and remained popular until the 1940s. The advantage of this stye was that the bridge could be adjusted to fit the wearer and lenses held in rigid horizontal position, for the new astigmatic lenses.
