CREAMERS, slag glass, pair of

Black, opaque "Slag" glass. i.e. contained waste slag from iron works. Mostly popular from c. 1870's although made before that. Especially made in North-East. Nairn thought this prob. South Shields. Matching pair, made in 3 sided mould. Scalloped edge, 3 decorative bands with mottled effect between. Nairn's No. 23.
