Naval Chief Petty Officer's Cap, World War II, 1940, Peak stiff black lined with green; crown of black wool felt; removable summer cover of white cotton pique broad band of heavy black textured ribbon; patent leather strap across forehead. Central gilt metal embroidered badge of wreathed anchor surmounted by crown. Cap lined with black satin, printed in gold with naval crown and name: 'Zeffert & Son/Portsmouth'
