Imari style decoration with underglaze royal blue printed pattern and ferric red floral additions in on-glaze enamels. Bluish glaze. Marks: impresse 'B.B. \ New Ston(e) \ '. Carelessly painted pattern no. 8667 \ Y in ferric red. Possibly Barker Bros Ltd., Longton, 1876 + Similar mark and symbols also used by Minton's (Godden, pages 440 and 441). Symbol for 1857 and mark no. 2705, but style of pattern no. does not tally. (Godden, Victorian Porcelain, pages 118 - 19. Barker ref. Godden, Encyclopaedia page 54, no. 247.
