Fine, closely potted body with hard, clear glaze. Decorated with gilded bands at base, outer narrow scroll, rim, below border and leaf pattern in border of pink wash below rim inside bowl. Moulded handle as J.P. Cushion, Pottery & Porcelain Tablewares, page 152, Spode, used on Etruscan patterned cups'. 1816 - ca 25. Christie's catalogue 16 August 1979, lot 207 f. Only 'mark' is impressed small cross. Not traced although Spode did use a cross inside a circle.
