Long hollow tube, which develops into a bulb three quarter way along length. One end has rubberized nozzle, the other a pin-like piece of metal, protruding from 'hose' and metal fitting. Box states: "INGRAM'S PERFEX ENEMA", (London Manufacturer) with directions for use and cleaning. Blue box. This enema was used in Kalgoorlie Hospital and was the type commonly used by district nurses and earlier, women such as 'midwives', 'sisters of the people' c.1900+. Contained as an essential item in their 'little black bag' as they walked or bicycled from patient to patient. May have had a place in the home nursing box.
