BADGE - St John of Jerusalem

Serving brothers & sisters badge - St John of Jerusalem. Worn on left breast. It is circular with a white Maltese cross in the centre of a black ground. Each of the cross's principal angles is embellished with a lion and a unicorn in silver. The rim & back are silver-coloured metal. Belonged to W.J. McNamara who was elected an honorary life member of St John Ambulance Association in 1969. See H88.37. Hangs from a black grosgrain ribbon. Photocopy with previous data sheet is of a letter advising that Mr McNamara had been promoted to a Brother of the Order.
