CUSHION COVER
H1989.734
Rectangular, apricot coloured, taffeta cushion cover with Italian quilting, made for exhibition. A design of three flowers, buds and leaves is worked in line stitch on the reverse side of the taffeta backed with muslin, and 'padded' by pulling strands of thick, white wool between the rows of stitching. The cushion cover won 37 firsts and 12 seconds, one of the latter at the Perth Royal Show in 1968, for quilting. It was unplaced only four times. Certificates accessioned under H89/1053.
