TIN, Queen Victoria

Rectangular metal tin wih hinged lid and rounded corners. Lid has a 8mm wide blue edge and a red recessed top with gold border. The centre of the lid has a gold embossed circle with decorative border surrounding gold bust of Queen Victoria facing left. The bottom front edge of the lid has 2mm wide ridge running along length. Base and sides of the tin are coloured gold, which is mostly worn off around the sides. Inside is uncoloured. Marked on lid to the left of Queen Victoria image is her insignia, '(crown)/VRI', and to the right is 'SOUTH/AFRICA/1900'. Marked in cursive text at bottom of lid face: 'I wish you a happy new year/Victoria'. Printed in small blue letters along gold rim in bottom left corner of lid: 'REG No 349850', and bottom right corner is marked 'COPYRIGHT'.
