CONICAL STANDARD MEASURE, ½ GALLON

H1995.1481

Conical standard measure, with pouring spout and metal handle. It is stamped '½ GALLON/ SM'. In raised letters 'FEDERAL TINWARE/ MFG. CO LTD/ MAKERS/ ROE ST PERTH'. On the side of the spout there are verification marks on a pad of solder. The word 'VAN' appears to have been painted in black, on the front; now very faded. These measures were used for testing fluid measurements, such as petrol and oil.
